Work is progressing well on site on the full refurbishment and extension of an Edwardian property in the Duchy Road area of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The refurbishment involves remodelling internally to create open light spaces along with a small rear extension creating a 'garden room' which opens out onto the garden which is accessed through bi-folding doors. Whilst the need is often felt to introduce additional en-suites and rooms where possible the proposals have actually removed and relocated a bathroom from the second floor (seen above) creating an open light landing with an additional roof light also being introduced enabling natural light to flood into the second floor. The decor is simple and minimal allowing the original features such as skirting boards, balustrades and coving to provide the detail and interest through-out the house. Work is due for completion in early 2013.
