“There once was an ugly duckling, with brickwork all cracked and brown”

Work has been completed of the full renovation and extension of a farm house set in Green Belt with great transport links to London. Set within rolling Green Belt planning permission was gained by Wighton Architects Ltd for the remodelling and extension of the existing farmhouse creating a luxury 5 bed detached house with Orangery and separate cart barn.

The original house (bottom image for those unsure) had sat empty for many years prior to specialist developers AJ Wadhams & Sons Ltd purchasing the site. Through a detailed design and planning process the house was sympathetically enlarged creating a property with a total floor area of 3900sqft. Originally a 3 bedroom house the reconfigured layout and extension have created a property with 5 bedrooms, 2 en-suite, study, lounge, dining,  kitchen/dining and Orangery set within its own grounds with a paddock and potential for stabling.

As part of the works the existing driveway was realigned to relieve pressure on the front of the house, use of the open roof void was utilised creating additional accommodation and the landscaping was enhanced with new Beech hedges and estate fencing.
