Planning granted for new contemporary dwelling in North Yorkshire

Planning has been granted for a new detached family dwelling in the village of Exelby, nr Bedale, in North Yorkshire. The scheme has been granted approval under the Local Authorities currently adopted Interim Policy Guidance (IPG). The policy allows for more flexibility towards some housing development in rural areas and is more aligned to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

Located within the garden of an existing property the new dwelling reflects the local vernacular with respect to materials and massing and maximises the views out across the local countryside. The dwelling is to be constructed in timber to surpass current building regs and is to contain sustainable technologies such as air source heart pumps.

Detailed construction information is currently being prepared with construction due to begin on site in late summer.
