Copper shingle clad extension submitted for planning

A planning application has been submitted for a new extension in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The contemporary first floor extension, situated in a conservation area, looks to create an additional bedroom nestled on an existing rear flat roof. Designed as a timber frame 'pod' clad in copper shingles the extension has been designed to respect the massing and detail of the host building enabling the hierarchy to be read. The copper shingle clad pod can be glimpsed from the main street contrasting with the hard natural stone and adds to the character of the conservation area in a positive manner.
